The SDC for the MIMAROPA is a standing Committee of the Regional Development Council (RDC) MIMAROPA tasked to review and evaluate major social development issues and concerns on health and nutrition, education, population, manpower development, social welfare, community development, housing and gender issues within the MIMAROPA for action by the RDC.

The Committee has the following functions:

  • recommends to the RDC government policies, programs and projects on social development consistent with national development objectives and priorities;
  • spearheads the conduct of budget hearing of key regional line agencies, through concerned regional development bodies;
  • integrates social development plans and programs of local government units in the regional! social development plan and coordinate social sector planning and programming activities within MIMAROPA; and
  • provides technical support to the various SDC Subcommittees of MIMAROPA Region.
