The NEDA Regional Office (NRO) MIMAROPA led by the Project Monitoring and Evaluation Division (PMED) conducted a virtual orientation on the ProyekTanglaw system to NRO Central Visayas on October 11.

The benchmarking activity aimed to shepherd NRO VII on ProyekTanglaw, a system developed by NRO MIMAROPA in partnership with the NEDA Information and Communications Technology Staff – Information System Development Division (ICTS-ISDD). The virtual briefing was designed to share how the online system was developed, the policies needed to ensure buy-in from implementing agencies, and actual demo in using the system.

NRO MIMAROPA’s Assistant Regional Director Apollo Edwin S. Pagano, in his opening remarks, highlighted the system’s focus on speedy monitoring of projects and automated output forms generation through the online Regional Project Monitoring and Evaluation System (RPMES), which is envisioned to be a common platform across NROs.

Meanwhile, a presentation on policies for development, operationalization, and maintenance of ProyekTanglaw was detailed by Mr. Roy A. Dimayuga, Chief of PMED. He emphasized the importance of designating  RPMES focal persons from implementing agencies, and RDC resolution adopting the ProyekTanglaw as the official M&E system in the region.

Moreover, Engr. Francis Bayani M. De Guzman,  Senior Economic Development Specialist, demonstrated a step-by-step process in navigating the ProyekTanglaw.

The orientation was capped with an open forum with the participants from NRO VII.

In her closing remarks, PMED Chief Ms. Maria Melissa E. Guantero of  NRO VII thanked NRO MIMAROPA colleagues for responding positively on their request for an orientation, and shared that they will be coming up with a decision very soon on whether to adopt ProyekTanglaw as their RPMES system or pursue their own locally-initiated system.
