NEDA Regional Office (NRO) MIMAROPA conducted the Regional Project Monitoring and Evaluation System (RPMES) Focal Persons Meeting on January 13, through Zoom video conference. The meeting aimed to discuss with RPMES focal persons and users of “ProyekTanglaw” the ways to improve the quality of submitted input forms and to ensure the timely submission of the quarterly RPMES agency accomplishment reports.

Regional Director Agustin C. Mendoza of NRO MIMAROPA welcomed the participants from implementing agencies and expressed his profound gratitude for joining the meeting.

He reiterated that the noble idea of the establishment of the RPMES is to guide the monitoring and evaluation of all major government programs and projects in the region.

Mendoza underscored the following three takeaways: (a) patriotism that drives the development, implementation, and monitoring of programs and projects that contribute to social and economic development of MIMAROPA region; (b) integrity that is demonstrated though transparency activities, particularly through the online M&E dashboard that is publicly available in NEDA MIMAROPA website, and (c) championing excellence through the commitment to take advantage of the modern technology to innovate and improve data science works.

Mendoza added that next M&E activities include the integration of Geographic Information System (GIS) application with the ProyekTanglaw system and to focus on measuring higher level results through impact evaluation.

Engr. Francis de Guzman, ProyekTanglaw system administrator, discussed the observations on the submitted inputs of the RPMES focal persons, and ways to improve the quality of submitted input forms and how to meet the deadline for submission of quarterly RPMES agency accomplishment reports.

A total of 87 persons, consisting of 38 men and 49 women, comprised the participants from the implementing partners and  several staff from NEDA.  The meeting has been agreed on to be held twice a year to sustain the conversation with implementing agencies to further improve the monitoring and evaluation works in MIMAROPA.
