The NEDA Regional Office (NRO) in MIMAROPA conducted the first semester Regional Project Monitoring and Evaluation System (RPMES) Focal Persons Meeting on January 17. It was attended by the designated RPMES focal persons from the regional line agencies (RLAs), government-owned and -controlled corporations (GOCCs), state universities and colleges (SUCs) and the city/provincial local government units’ (C/PLGUs) representatives in MIMAROPA region.

Led by the Project Monitoring and Evaluation Division (PMED) of NRO MIMAROPA, it provided a venue for tackling issues such as how to improve the quality and efficiency of RPMES report submission through the ProyekTanglaw system.

NRO MIMAROPA Regional Director Agustin C. Mendoza emphasized the need to enhance collaboration and commitment towards accurate and timely reporting of project implementation status. He underscored the importance of learning and understanding why projects are delayed so that project completion could effectively be facilitated.

A summary of the agencies’ inputs to the ProyekTanglaw system was discussed, including how common errors can be avoided. Engr. Francis Bayani M. De Guzman, NRO MIMAROPA ProyekTanglaw lead staff, provided the overview of system changes that will be introduced to improve the data accuracy and credibility.

Engr. Jojo Datinguinoo, one of NRO MIMAROPA ProyekTanglaw sector staff, stressed that the quality of information submitted to the ProyekTanglaw is reliant on the quality of inputs provided by the implementing agencies.

The activity culminated in an open forum where concerns in utilizing the ProyekTangklaw and the technical procedures in the timely accomplishment of RPMES reports were deliberated on.

NRO MIMAROPA Assistant Regional Director Apollo Edwin S. Pagano, in his closing message, thanked the participants for their dedication in promoting monitoring and evaluation or M&E culture in the region. He urged the ProyekTanglaw focal persons to continue taking on the responsibility of providing valuable inputs in all M&E activities in the region.

The activity coincided with the second anniversary of ProyekTanglaw as the official project monitoring system of MIMAROPA, when RPMES focal persons were given their official usernames and passwords during the ProyekTanglaw virtual users’ training on January 18-19, 2021.
