The National Economic and Development Authority Regional Office (NRO) MIMAROPA conducted the second semester Regional Project Monitoring and Evaluation System (RPMES) focal persons meeting on October 20. The virtual meeting led by the Project Monitoring and Evaluation Division (PMED) of NRO MIMAROPA provided the venue on how to improve the quality and efficiency of RPMES report submissions through the ProyekTanglaw system.

In his opening remarks, NRO MIMAROPA Regional Director Agustin C. Mendoza highlighted the importance of conducting the semestral RPMES focal persons meeting as a mechanism in finding ways to resolve issues and concerns in using the system, and  further improve the quality of the submitted RPMES reports. He underscored that the direction of monitoring and evaluation (M&E) is to gradually move to evaluation part especially on impact monitoring, based on the project’s logical framework.  He stressed that impact evaluation can only be started when output monitoring has been perfected through the RPMES.

During the activity, the feedback on the agencies’ inputs to the ProyekTanglaw system was discussed, and how common errors can be avoided. Engr. Francis Bayani M. De Guzman,  NRO MIMAROPA ProyekTanglaw lead staff, stressed that the quality of information submitted to the ProyekTanglaw is reliant on the quality of inputs provided by the implementing agencies.

The virtual meeting was attended by the designated RPMES focal persons of the implementing agencies and the city/provincial local government units (C/PLGUs) representatives in the MIMAROPA region.

The activity capped off with an open forum wherein concerns in utilizing the ProyekTangklaw and the technical procedures in the timely accomplishment of RPMES reports were conferred.
