Regional Project Monitoring Committee (RPMC) MIMAROPA Chairperson and Regional Director Agustin C. Mendoza of the NEDA Regional Office (NRO) MIMAROPA administered the oath of office of private sector representatives (PSRs) and the confirmation of the state universities and colleges (SUCs) as special non-voting members (SNVMs) of the MIMAROPA RPMC  during its fourth quarter meeting  through  zoom videoconference last  November 29.

The appointed PSRs are Mr. Delfin Natal, Jr. of the Philippine Rural Reconstruction Movement, Mr. Lope Trajeco, Jr. of the Rotary Club Mamburao Central, and Engr. Aida Malubay of the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers (PICE) Oriental Mindoro Chapter.  The appointed  PSRs will serve for one year while the SNVMs will serve for three years.

The meeting also tackled the status of ongoing major infrastructure development projects in the region, 2022 third Quarter Regional Project Monitoring and Evaluation System (RPMES) Report,  Occidental Mindoro field monitoring visit report,  the Provincial/City Local Project Monitoring Committee’s functionality report, and the 2023 proposed schedule of RPMC meetings. 

Architect Helario Valones of the National Housing Authority Regional Office IV  presented the updates on the status of its nine remaining projects within the province of Palawan under the Yolanda Permanent Housing Program (YPHP).  Once completed, it would provide housing to a total of 5,290 households affected by the Yolanda super typhoon in 2013.

Engr. Anacorita Mercader of the Department of Public Works and Highways MIMAROPA reported that the Mindoro Island Circumferential Road is ongoing and nearing its completion with 98 percent physical accomplishment. Once completed, it would improve the connectivity of the region and hasten its development. Specifically, these projects would facilitate movement of people, trading and would trigger a higher sustained economic growth for the region.

Engr. John Joco Matutina of the National Irrigation Administration MIMAROPA presented the status of the Ibato-Iraan in Palawan and Bagtingon small reservoir Irrigation project in Marinduque. While Engr. Jean Tirante of the Department of Agriculture presented the status of the Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP) components in the region such as the I-PLAN – Support to commodities, I-BUILD subprojects, MIMAROPA pipelined subprojects, I-REAP subprojects and the marine protected area (MPA) in Roxas, Palawan.

The secretariat also presented the CY 2022 third quarter RPMES report, Occidental Mindoro Field Monitoring Visit report, and the proposed CY 2023 RPMC schedule of meetings.​​​​​​​

The meeting capped with the local Project Monitoring Committees (PMCs) of Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Palawan, and Romblon which reported the functionality assessments of their local/city PMCs.
