The MIMAROPA Regional Development Council (RDC) has called for the updating of the Regional Physical Framework Plan, 2004-2030 to Incorporate Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR)-Climate Change Adaptation in order to address the growing concerns on the effects and impacts of disaster in regional development.

To gear up the updating process, series of writeshops were conducted on sectoral assessment of the different plan components, adoption of the region’s base map and completion of all the sections of the RPFP incorporating DRR-CCA concerns. The Enhanced DRR-CCA RPFP, 2004-2030 is expected to be completed by December 2013.During the Regional Land Use Committee (RLUC) Meeting on May 3, 2012, RLUC Chairperson and NEDA MIMAROPA Regional Director Remigio A. Mercado emphasized that the DRR-CCA enhanced RPFP shall be a lean map-based plan that shall serve as the blue print for development actions that promote inclusive growth, poverty reduction, improved quality of life and economic competitiveness.
