The provincial government of Occidental Mindoro hosted the 66th MIMAROPA Regional Development Council (RDC) Full Council meeting held last March 1 in San Jose, Occidental Mindoro.

RDC Chairperson and Palawan Governor Jose C. Alvarez presided over the meeting which was attended by Oriental Mindoro Governor Alfonso V. Umali, Jr., Occidental Mindoro Governor Mario Gene J. Mendiola, Occidental Mindoro lone district representative Josephine R. Sato, Mamburao, Occidental Mindoro Mayor Angelina F. Tria, San Jose, Occidental Mindoro Mayor Romulo M. Festin, directors and representatives of regional line agencies (RLAs), local government units (LGUs), state universities and colleges (SUCs), and private sector representatives.


Meanwhile, Police Director General Oscar D. Albayalde, chief of Philippine National Police (PNP) was guest at the meeting. He dropped by tge RDC Full Council meeting with PNP MIMAROPA Regional Director PC/Supt. Tomas C. Apolinario after convening a joint conference with 203rd Brigade, 2nd INfantry Division, Philppine Army regarding the recent insurgency incidences in Oriental Mindoro and Occidental Mindoro.

The Council approved/endorsed the following: 1) fiscal year (FY) 2020 budget proposals; 2) guidelines on the formulation of the MIMAROPA Regional Development Plan 2017-2022 midterm update; 3) inclusion of of port security in Department of Transportation-LGU-Memorandum of Agreement; 4) SUC boar resolution as endorsement for research and development or R&D projects; 5) 10th RDC Private Sector Representatives (PSR) National Convention; and 6) calendar year (CY) 2019 RDC work program.

The members, on the other hand, were informed on the CY 2018 RDC accomplishment report, CY 2018 RDC summary of attendance, regional economic situationer, status of RDC endorsed projects, project monitoring report, creation of regional El Niño task force, report on measles outbreak, and CY 2018 threat situation in the region.

The 67th RDC Full Council meeting will be held on June 7 in Oriental Mindoro.
