Functions

Being the oversight Committee of the RDC, the DAC shall assume stronger role not only in coordinating development efforts in the region but also in reviewing and formulating policies and measures to improve delivery of basic services in the region. Consequently, the following are the identified functions of the Committee:

 

  • Formulate/update the Macro and DevAd Framework of the Regional Development Plan;
  • Recommend to relevant agencies through the RDC, policies and measures as may be required to effectively achieve Macro and DevAd objectives enunciated in the Regional Development Plan;
  • Coordinate the conduct of studies, researches and legislative proposals relevant to Macro and DevAd sectors;
  • Spearhead the conduct of fora and other forms of discussion on key issues;
  • Evaluate and monitor programs and projects related to the areas of concerns of the DAC;
  • Conduct advocacy activities to disseminate the undertakings of the RDC;
  • Review existing ground rules and formulate as necessary new guidelines and policies in the operation of the RDC;
  • Review of agencies’ major programs and projects for MIMAROPA provinces as well as the issues and concerns that affect project implementation;
  • Promote equitable distribution of resources among the five provinces in the region by the different agencies.
