The Provincial Government of Marinduque was host to the 64th MIMAROPA Regional Development Council (RDC) Full Council meeting held last September 7 in Boac, Marinduque.
The meeting was presided over by Governor Alfonso V. Umali, Jr. of Oriental Mindoro. It was attended by regional directors of national government agencies, executives of local government units (LGUs), and private sector representatives. Governor Carmencita O. Reyes of Marinduque, Mayor Roberto M. Madla of Boac Marinduque, and Mayor Russel S. Madrigal of the League of Municipalities of Marinduque also attended the meeting.
Guest resource person Deputy Executive Director Eleazar E. Ricote of the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Center discussed the Philippine PPP program including PPP concepts, processes, and proposals of LGUs.
The Council, meanwhile, approved/endorsed the following resolutions: (a) authorization of the RDC chairperson to enter into and sign a usufruct agreement with the Provincial Government of Oriental Mindoro; (b) outputs of the MIMAROPA Tourism Investment Forum; (c) proposed construction of Napo reinforced concrete bridge; (d) proposed construction of Bayuti overflow spillway; and (e) draft MARINA circular on the rules and regulations providing for rights of passengers and obligations of domestic operators in case of cancelled, delayed, and unfinished/uncompleted voyages.
The members, on the other hand, were also informed on the 2018 MIMAROPA festival, forum on federalism, second quarter regional economic situationer, status of MIMAROPA RDC endorsed projects, and project monitoring report.
The 65th RDC Full Council meeting will be held on December 6 in Palawan.
