The MIMAROPA Regional Development Council (RDC) conducted FY 2018 budget review during the first quarter sectoral committee meetings on 31 January – 03 February at the Golden Phoenix Hotel Manila in Pasay City.

The RDC is mandated under Presidential Executive Order No. 325 (S.1996) to review and endorse to the national government the proposed budgets of agency regional offices (AROs) and state universities and colleges (SUCs).

The RDC MIMAROPA budget review was undertaken to ensure that the programs, projects, and activities (PPAs) proposed by the AROs and SUCs are consistent with the regional development investment program (RDIP) approved by the RDC and supportive of the region’s development priorities and responsive to the current regional development plan, strategic regional development agenda, long term vision (AmBisyon Natin 2040), O+10 point socioeconomic agenda, and sustainable development goals.

AROs included provisions for the establishment of a regional office in the designated regional government center as required under RA 10879.

The FY 2018 agency investment programs of AROs and SUCs shall be endorsed by the RDC to their respective central offices for inclusion in the FY 2018 budgets during the 58th RDC Full Council meeting to be held on 03 March in Palawan.
