The NEDA Regional Office MIMAROPA provided technical assistance to higher education institutions (HEIs) in the region on the preparation of project concept paper for the institutional development and innovation grants (IDIG) of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) on March 28-29, 2017 at Mindoro State College of Agriculture and Technology (MinSCAT) in Calapan City.
The training was participated by 15 HEIs from MIMAROPA region. The training aims to increase the number of project proposals approved by CHED under the grant, to enhance the skill and competency of MIMAROPA HEIs in the preparation of concept paper, and to acquaint the participants on the IDIG guidelines and standards. At the end of the training, 18 project concept papers were presented and critiqued by the facilitators. The project concept papers will be submitted online in the IDIG portal of CHED.
Training facilitators were OIC-RD Susan A. Sumbeling, OIC-ARD Bernardino A. Atienza, Jr. and Ms. Jobelle Cruzado of NEDA MIMAROPA and Ms. Sol Theresa L. Logo of CHED MIMAROPA.
The training was conducted to assist oHEIs in the region in availing the financial grants of CHED. In the previous call for project proposals, very few proposals were approved. The implementation of senior high school will result to low enrolment in HEIs and this provides an opportunity to upgrade the quality of their education. IDIG is CHED’s assistance to HEIs sector during the transition. The next activity will be the preparation of full project proposal in the last week of April.
