NEDA MIMAROPA conducts multi stakeholder summit on the long term vision

A multi stakeholder summit on the long term vision was conducted through the auspices of NEDA MIMAROPA on 17 to 18 November 2016   at ONE Tagaytay Hotel, Tagaytay City.

 The two-day summit was formally opened by NEDA MIMAROPA   OIC Regional Director Susan A. Sumbeling. This was followed by the presentations on 0 + 10 point socioeconomic agenda by Engr. Amalia S. Tuppil, OIC Chief of the project monitoring division (PMD); national spatial framework by Mr. Bernardino A. Atienza, Jr.     OIC Assistant Regional Director and concurrent Chief of the project development division (PDD); 2030 sustainable development goals (SDGs) by Ms. Beltisezara A. Garcia, OIC Chief of the development research division (DRD); Ambisyon Natin 2040 by   Ms. Sheryll B. Sarabia, OIC Chief of the plan formulation division (PFD); and Philippine development plan (PDP) 2017-2022 overall strategic framework by       OIC RD Sumbeling.

One of the highlights of the summit is the signing of the pledge wall wherein 73 participants from different national government agencies (NGAs) regional line agencies (RLAs), local government units (LGUs), state universities and colleges (SUCs), and private sector representatives (PSRs) signed their pledges by answering the key question: What can you do to support this vision and turn into a reality for Filipinos?

Consultation on the regional development plan (RDP) and regional development investment program (RDIP) was also conducted during the summit. OIC RD Sumbeling discussed the formulation of the MIMAROPA RDP 2017-2022 while Ms. Sarabia tackled the formulation of the MIMAROPA RDIP 2017-2022. Workshop proper immediately followed and group outputs consist of the assessment and result matrices were presented on the second day by the chairs of the four (4) sectoral committees: development administration committee (DAC), economic development committee (EDC), infrastructure development committee (IDC), and social development committee (SDC).

The multi stakeholder summit aimed to serve as the mainstream culminating event of the long term vision campaign in the region that will feature all the products and materials created during the process of developing the vision. The consultations intended to involve the stakeholders in translating the vision to actual development plan and measurable targets.
