The NEDA MIMAROPA led by RD Remigio A. Mercado, in cooperation with the Philippine National Police (PNP) IV-B, Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) 203rd Infantry Brigade, Baco Municipal Health Office (MHO), National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) IV-B, and MIMAROPA Communication Network (ComNet), conducted an outreach project for the second time at Sitio Malmis, Brgy. Baras, Baco, Oriental Mindoro on February 14, 2013.
The first outreach to Sitio Malmis in February 14, 2012 became a historic when the Malmis community declared February 14, 2012 as the sitio’s Foundation Day. This year’s activity benefitted 170 Mangyan pupils of Malmis Elementary School (MES) and 80 household residents of Sitio Malmis. In addition to the distribution of goods from various donors (i.e., Gov. Alfonso Umali Jr., DDT Konstract, Department of Agriculture (DA) IV-B, NCIP IV-B and MIMAROPA ComNet), the dental and medical check-ups highlighted the event.
Said project was initiated by NEDA MIMAROPA as a way of expressing love and to operationalize convergence of services to the less endowed and inadequately served community. Commitments generated during the event are followed through to the benefit of the community.
