The provincial government of Occidental Mindoro hosted the 59th RDC full council meeting held on June 2, 2017 in San Jose.
RDC MIMAROPA Chairman and Palawan Governor Jose Ch. Alvarez presided the meeting which was attended by Oriental Mindoro Governor Alfonso V. Umali, Jr., Occidental Mindoro Governor Mario Gene J. Mendiola, Romblon Governor Eduardo C. Firmalo, Occidental Mindoro lone district representative Josephine R. Sato, Calapan City Mayor Arnan C. Panaligan, Mamburao, Occidental Mindoro Mayor Angelina F. Tria, San Jose, Occidental Mindoro Mayor Romulo M. Festin, directors and representatives of regional line agencies, local government units, state universities and colleges, and private sector representatives.
The following matters where endorsed during the meeting: 1) rehabilitation and recovery plan for areas affected by typhoon Nina; 2) P54 million capital assistance for the Laylay Magnetic Station-Historico Cultural Tourism Development Program in BOac, Marinduque; 3) Romblon flood control projects for funding and implementation of DPWH.
The council approved the resolutions on the following: 1) 2016 regional development report; 2) updated RDC manual of operations; 3) schedule of RDP 2017-2022 roadshows; 4) proposed MIMAROPA regional government center (RGC) site; 5) proposed conceptual design of the site development plan of the MIMAROPA RGC; 6) proposed organization and conduct of DRRM conference; 7) institutionalization of SRNH interregional committee; 8) support to federations of PWDs Resolution No. 1 (S. 2016); 9) support to the cityhood of San Jose, Occidental Mindoro; 10) request for technical and financial assistance from NCCA in the conduct of MIMAROPA festival; and 11) appreciation to the provincial government of Occidental Mindoro for hosting the 59th RDC full council meeting.
The members were informed on the 2016 gross regional domestic product, RDC-ACO dialogue, search for the country’s outstanding coastal community, Independence Day celebration in Calapan City, water system accomplishments in Palawan, peace and order situation, report on illegal drug use, status of the RDC endorsed projects, regional economic situationer, and project monitoring report.
The 60th RDC full council meeting will be held on September 8 in Oriental Mindoro.
